Macarthur's Cafe Connect wins 2020 Highly Commended Local Government Award

Café Connect has received the 2020 Highly Commended Local Government Award in the Community Partnerships and Collaboration category. Thanks to all our amazing Café Connect service providers, community groups and volunteers that have supported this project throughout the initial 2018 Camden Council - Explore and Scope funded pilot project to the now Macarthur-wide Café Connects. You all play a huge role in the project’s success by engaging with our Café Connect participants and networking with each other which has provided a best practice model for achieving connections and increasing referrals to services, membership to programs, and links to information and initiatives. MDS SSDT Project worked together with Campbelltown, Camden and Wollondilly Councils to expand Café Connect from its original target group of local seniors to also include Café Connect programs across Macarthur for people living with dementia, people with disability, children with sensory needs and men’s health initiatives.
