MDS opens the South Western Sydney Recovery College

South West Sydney Primary Health Network and One Door Mental Health have joined forces to fund the South Western Sydney Recovery College run by Macarthur Disability Services.

Recovery is a personal journey to rebuild and live a purposeful and meaningful life. SWS Recovery College is a place for people aged over 12 years with mental health lived experience, carers and service providers to come together to learn from each other, share experiences, increase their understanding of mental health recovery and achieve individual aspirations and dreams.

Understanding Recovery—Using a Wellbeing Approach is a 10 week program aimed at building the student’s understanding and increasing their knowledge and skills to achieve recovery. Other courses include Buried in Treasure, Tree of Life- Journaling with Mental Health Recovery and Taking Care of You. SWS Recovery College is overseen by a steering committee with course content approved by an Expert Panel consisting of mental health professionals, clinicians, carers and people with lived experience.

SWS Recovery College provides courses, workshops and popup hubs to meet the needs of service providers and consumers. If you would like to know more or are interested in  training, please give us a call on 02 4621 8400 or send us an email at . For more information, take a look at the website
