There’s never been a more pressing time than now to consider mental health in the workplace. Sector developments, job insecurity as well as external factors we all experienced throughout late 2019 and early 2020 have served us a rather distasteful emotional sandwich. I’m not sure any of us could think of a time in history when so many occurrences have affected so many of us in such a short space of time.
That being said, and as hard as it may be, it’s essential that we all take stock of where we’re at right now. We need to check in with ourselves and our family, friends and colleagues, to ask for or give support in whatever way we can.
We’re well aware that some people still have a prejudice about mental health issues, particularly in the workplace, but now is the perfect time to put those prejudices aside and deal with the issues we’re all facing. I’m sure no-one would dare say that times have been easy lately.
Now, as we find ourselves working from home, perhaps juggling our children’s online learning, dealing with loss of property, or even dealing with illness of ourselves or loved ones, it’s time to search for ways to actively address our needs and the needs of others, even if they don’t want to acknowledge it themselves.
MDS Training has developed a range of workshops which can help assist with mental health issues in the workplace to ensure the success and longevity of your organization. Please contact us to discuss how we can help you.
